The original design timing belt tensioner is filled with oil to dampen oscillation.The AERATechnical Committee offers the following information regarding a revised timing belt tensioner for 2002-2003 Acura 3.2Lengines. This tensioner is part of a product improvement by Acura. Vehicles with the revised tensioner should be identified by a punched mark above the sixth digit of engine compartment VIN Code as shown in Figure 1 below.
The original design timing belt tensioner is filled with oil to dampen oscillation. Due to a manufacturing situation, the tensioner oil can leak. If enough oil is lost, the timing belt loosens and causes engine noise. The worse case scenario is the belt may lose tension and allow loss of cam timing. On a typically stock 2.0L engine, you can expect the following approximate power gain: Nitrous / Fuel Jetting Approx. HP Gains .024 .018 40 .032 .020 70 The dyno tests were conducted at Edelbrock using a stock 2002 Acura RSX Type S. These tests were conducted with 950 psi nitrous bottle pressure. 1.3Engine Operation Considerations When used correctly, nitrous oxide safely elevates cylinder pressures and temperatures while increasing combustion rate. These characteristics make the engine more sensitive to detonation.
To ensure proper performance, engine and drive line life, the following tips are suggested: System Jetting Never exceed the recommended jetting!! Excessive jetting will result in severe engine damage. Fuel Quality Because Nitrous oxide is an oxidizer, fuel selection is critical. Both octane and fuel consistency affect fuel burn rate. The oxidizer quality of nitrous oxide will accelerate the burn rate, so we recommend a high quality of gasoline. We also recommend you use the same grade of gasoline every time you use your nitrous oxide system. This will help maintain the same fuel burn rate every time. Ignition Components Most aftermarket performance chips increase the vehicle’s ignition timing, which can cause detonation with the use of nitrous oxide.

Once loose, close lid and remove. • Disconnect pocket light bulb socket (B) and detach harness clips (C). STEP #4 • Remove screws, disconnect front accessory power socket connector (D) and detach harness clip (E), then remove lower center pocket (F). STEP # 5 • Open console box lid (A) and remove console mat (B) and screws (C,D). D E F E F G H STEP # 6 • Lift and remove center console (E). • Disconnect rear accessory power socket connector (F), and detach clip (G). • Pull up rear portion of console to release hooks (H), then remove.

The manifold should be port-matched OFF the engine and thoroughly cleaned prior to re-installation. If using Edelbrock Victor X PN 4764 or 4765, no grinding is needed.
These manifolds are already bore-matched to this throttle body. Refer to the OEM owner’s manual for removal/installation procedure of the intake manifold. Use the gasket as a template to mark the manifold for grinding. 8. Be certain the throttle body flange surface on the intake manifold is clean and free of debris. Using the factory nuts and bolts and the new gasket supplied in the kit, attach the throttle body to the intake manifold.
